Minister Todd Barnett
I am Todd Barnett, one of the ministers of Rowan Tree Pagan Ministries. I started out in Los Angeles, was raised Christian, and had a conservative outlook. The first is way too crowded, the second too restrictive, and the last is stagnant. I volunteered to go to Viet Nam. Fortunately the Air Force did not need me there. I was stationed in China, Nationalist that is, on the island of Taiwan where I got my first look at how other people live and view the world. Different climate, different life experiences, different philosophy of life and death.
I learned that all people, when you separate them from politics, religion, and dogma, want to be able to live, laugh and love in peace. I feel we can solve most if not all of the problems of the world if we are willing to listen to and understand the feelings of each other. This is supposed to be a biography but seems to be more of a sermon. I love to be out of doors, in the woods, on the beach or just sitting on the deck with friends.
I like to work with my hands making things. Jewelry, clocks, model ships or kinetic sculpture anything to express creativity. I love to draw but I’m not very good at it so I do coloring books. I love to write. I want to publish a magical novel. I have spent my entire working life with machines of one sort or another, now it is time to change direction. I retired four years ago looking forward to traveling around a bit. My wife has had some medical issues that we are dealing with so our trips will have to wait for a while. I got a call last year from the last company I worked for asking me to come back and train new employees and do some inspection. They agreed to my conditions and gave me a raise, so I am working part time for a while.
I am still a work in progress. I am 69 years old and plan to become very old and interesting. I’m half way there, now I just need to do something interesting.
